I messed up this past weekend. •••• I had I messed up this past weekend. 
••••
I had to take me car into the city for some repair work and due to a miss communication I was there for 3 nights instead of 2. 
••••
Normally that’s not a problem (I was staying at my moms and she loves me) but I forgot my thyroid medication at home. So I went 3 days without my meds all while stressed over not getting my car on time and not sleeping well because I was not at home. 
••••
Now, this isn’t the end of the world, I know what I need in order to recover from this. So this week I’ll be resting more in the afternoon, making sure I’m not caffeinating to boost energy, supporting thyroid hormone conversion with selenium, and supporting my adrenals. (Also making sure I never leave my meds behind again 😂).

My husband stopped to pick up veggies at a stand in town and then came home and made a wonderful supper after working all day. I’m so thankful to have such a wonderful support system.

Hands up if you love sauerkraut 🙋🏻‍♀️. Hands up if you love sauerkraut 🙋🏻‍♀️. When I started my own AIP journey fermented foods were one of the things I had a hard time adding in. I started with fermented fingered carrots and eventually progressed to... sauerkraut!... I always have at least one variety in my fridge but it’s not uncommon to find 2 or 3.

Fermented foods like sauerkraut benefit digestion, are a great source of probiotics, and a good source of vitamin K. Different cultures worldwide have always included fermented foods in their diet.

If you’re buying sauerkraut or other fermented foods at the store look for them in the refrigerator section, these are living foods and while they do keep a long time they do need to be refrigerated. The sauerkraut you find in the middle of the store has been pasteurized and any beneficial bacteria have been killed.
